For multi-sport athletes – TomTom Multi-Sport Cardio
This lightweight watch is designed for multi-sport athletes. Whether you’re a runner, cyclist, swimmer, or triathlete, you’ll be able to see real time training information at a glance. For tech-savvy multi-sport athletes – Garmin Vivosmart HR activity tracker The Garmin Vivosmart HR is great if you like to keep connected, delivering text, email, calls and social media notifications to your wrist. It provides heart rate tracking through the day and night, and monitors sleep. It displays steps, distance, floors climbed, calories burned, as well as workout intensity and heart rate. For swimmers, it’s waterproof to 165 feet.
For gym enthusiasts – Fitbit Blaze
As well as tracking the minutes that you are active, the Fitbit Blaze records calories burned, steps, floors climbed and distance. Its multi-sport tracking means you can monitor running, cycling, cross-training, and other cardio activities, so it’s great for the gym. It monitors heart rate through your wrist, so there’s no need for chest straps, and includes heart rate zones so you can check how hard you’re working during a session.
For athletes wanting night-time analysis – the Fitbit One
The Fitbit One recognises that recovery is an important part of the training process. As well as functions to monitor distance, steps, calories burned and stairs climbed, the Fitbit One tracks sleep quality. It’s not a wrist-worn device, but is useful as a basic tracker with the added function of sleep monitoring.
